The Arc of Philadelphia provides education and training in the unique healthcare needs of the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) community, helping to reduce health disparities and increase the longevity and quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the following work:

Health Outreach Project (HOP) Clinic 
The first medical student–run free clinic dedicated to serving intellectually disabled adults in the country, medical students provide a weekly walk-in clinic at The Arc of Philadelphia. This collaboration with Drexel College of Medicine allows medical students to train under Drexel medical staff to provide basic health assessments and follow up with referrals to primary physicians in partnership with SpArc Services staff.

HealthMeet™, an initiative of The Arc of the United States, provides screening for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families, and training to medical and nursing students, medical providers and the general public, and raises awareness of common health issues that impact this population. Screenings are provided in collaborations with The Arc of the United States, Drexel University College of Medicine, Drexel School of Nursing an individual volunteers.
