Updated information regarding stimulus checks

"U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin followed up on guidance by the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) about the coronavirus stimulus checks the Administration will soon start sending out. Earlier this week, IRS guidance had stated that individuals who do not usually file taxes would need to file a simple return to receive the stimulus checks. Following community push back to the filing requirement, the Secretary announced that SSA recipients would not need to file a form and would instead receive the funding automatically. However, currently only SSA beneficiaries will receive checks automatically, not SSI or VA beneficiaries. At this time, SSI or VA beneficiaries still need to file a simple form to receive the stimulus check."
