2015 Disability Policy Seminar

The Disability Policy Seminar 2015 in DC proved to be a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration between disability groups. Hundreds of advocates, many of them self-advocates, came together to be briefed on key policy issues in the areas of Community Living, Education, Federal Funding, Health Care and Social Security. As the Senate was marking up the Higher Education Act (HEA) reauthorization we were able to take action and call our Senators to stop detrimental amendments from being added and support a high level of education for all our children. We also had the opportunity to meet with our legislators and share our personal stories. To read the details regarding the policy fact sheets go to http://www.thearc.org/dps/hill-visits and share what you learn with your legislator.
